AlwaysP1SM is Protection One's wireless and web-enabled residential and commercial security offering. Powered by Alarm.com's patented wireless technology, AlwaysP1SM systems allow users enhanced monitoring and control capabilities.

As an AlwaysP1SM customer, you can log into the AlwaysP1.com website to manage your security system from anywhere: arm/disarm your system, set up user access codes and more. Real-time text-message and e-mail alerts keep you informed about what's happening at your home or business when you're away.

Because all signals (alarms and other activity information) are transmitted WIRELESSLY from your Protection One control panel through a built-in wireless module, you don't have to worry about intruders disabling your security system by cutting the phone line. And, unlike traditional systems, you don't need a landline telephone or internet connection for your AlwaysP1SM security system to work!

We offer new systems, as well as upgrade options if you already have an existing security system.

2. What's the difference between AlwaysP1SM security systems and traditional security systems?

A few key differences set AlwaysP1SM systems apart from other security systems:

1) AlwaysP1SM security systems work independently of your phone line or internet connection. So your security system will work whether you have Voice-over-IP, a traditional landline, or no phone line at all. AlwaysP1SM security systems send all alarms and other signals through a dedicated wireless connection. You don't even need a wireless network in your home. As soon as your system is powered up, it starts communicating with the local wireless towers in your area (similar to the way a cell phone works).

2) Since AlwaysP1SM systems send signals wirelessly, they are more secure than other systems that use the phone line to report alarms. Even if an intruder cuts your phone line (a common tactic among burglars) or the power goes out, your AlwaysP1SM system can continue to report alarms and other system activity.

3) While an AlwaysP1SM system may look like a traditional security system on the outside, there's much more to it than meets the eye. Built-in wireless technology allows you to monitor and control your AlwaysP1SM security system via the Web, just like you monitor your bank account, your stock portfolio, your travel plans and the weather forecast. Doesn't it make sense that you should be able to monitor the safety and security of your family, your home or business and your valuables?

4) With AlwaysP1SM, your security system is always reporting activity, even when it isn't armed. It can let you know about everything that happens at your property, not just alarms. You can be alerted when a specific door opens, when the system is disarmed by a family member or guest, or if someone goes into a specific room or area in your home. You can keep track of when your kids get home from school, or when your housekeeper or a repair person comes over to your house.

Notifications can be fully customized according to the threats or activity you want to monitor at your property - for instance, if you're monitoring a liquor cabinet, you can choose to receive notifications only if the cabinet is opened between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday (when you're not home and no one else should be opening the cabinet). With AlwaysP1SM, you can monitor a lot more than just alarms.

3. Do I have to install the system myself?

No! Every AlwaysP1SM system, whether it's an upgrade or a brand new system, includes professional installation by a Protection One security technician. We're perfectionists, so you can relax knowing that your system will protect your property as intended.

4. I'm going on vacation. How does AlwaysP1SM help me?

AlwaysP1SM is perfect for keeping track of your home when you go on vacation. If you're going away, you can create a temporary access code so a neighbor can get in to feed your cat and water your plants while you're gone. If you want, you can receive a text-message or e-mail you when someone enters your home ("Your system was disarmed by The Neighbors at 4:05 PM") and when certain areas of your home are accessed ("The Cat Food Cabinet was opened at 4:07 PM."). If you don't want to be disturbed while on vacation, you can just check the event log on the AlwaysP1.com website when you return, so you can see everything that happened while you were gone.

5. Are AlwaysP1SM systems and services more reliable and secure?

Yes. Unlike traditional security systems, an AlwaysP1SM system transmits all signals wirelessly, so it's not vulnerable to phone line cuts. And its backup battery allows them to function even if the power goes out.

6. Is AlwaysP1SM available everywhere in North America?
